Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Carolina
- Applied for loan
- Qualified for loan
- Paid all down payments and fees to bank
- Supplied supporting documentation to show where funds came from
Bank decides to deny loan because even though documents were provided of where money came from, money was not kept and left in a financial institution.
Is there a case for financial discrimination? Is there even such a thing?

Credit Discrimination is based on you being denied a loan because of your status as a member of a protected class (race, gender, religion, national origin, and discrimination). You have to show that is the sole reason you were denied.
Here they gave you a different reason, you may have other claims if that reason is not with merit, but it is also possible that if the money was not in the bank, it might have given them a valid reason to back out.
