Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Carolina
My daughter co-signed a car loan with her fiance. They are no longer engaged & she has moved back to Maryland. She was in NC. She is actually listed as the buyer & he is the co-buyer. Is there any way to get her off the loan?

The only way to get her off of the loan is with the consent of the lender. If her credit was good and his was not, the lender probably will not consent. She should ask him to refinance the vehicle on his own to pay off the old note, or else take possession of the vehicle and make the payments herself in order to protect her credit. I know this is easier said than done.
