Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Carolina
I left my apartment in august of 2014. I gave my landlord(s) a letter of intent (35 days prior to leaving) saying I was going to leave my apartment, i just recently married and had a child, and that i could no longer afford the rent and would be moving to a different city. I received no contact of any kind until November 10th, from a collections agency for $6000. The only thing I have done since then is explain to the collection agency my situation. What legal options do I have in this situation?

Was a 30 day notice sufficient under the lease, if it was ending?
