Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Carolina

LEGAL ISSUES REGARDING UNSOLICITED CALLS from lawyers: Is ist legal for a lawyer to contact a out of state person that has gotten a trafit ticken? I got a ticket in NC for speeding and was contacted by an lawyer that offer to go to court for me to have my offence reduced. I have never heard of this. In fact I was told that it is iglegal to do this. I am a out of state person

In NC, the attorneys are allowed to send a letter to a prospective client, provided that certain rules are met. The attorney is generally not supposed to call the prospective client. This is addressed by Rule 7.3 of the NC Rules of Professional Responsibility.
