Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Carolina
how long can a tv repair shop take to fix a tv after you have already paid them
1 Answer from Attorneys
Paying them before the TV is fixed is a mistake. The law does not provide a set time - it depends on what is reasonable and what is wrong with it. It may also depend on the age of the tv and if the repair shop can get parts.
Do you know what was wrong with it? You might want to ask another repair shop on the average time for repairs. If you are way over that, then send the tv shop owner a certified letter, return receipt requested, demanding that he fix the tv in 10 days ro return the tv and your money and you will go elsewhere. If he refuses, take the shop, if its a corporation or llc, or him, if he is a sole proprietor, to small claims and seek return of the tv and your money.
