Legal Question in Consumer Law in North Carolina
So I've started a case with a lawyer about a vehicle I purchased that I later found out had the odometer rolled back. (This I only found out through Carmax when they quoted me a price to buy the car.) Anyway, now I'm not able to sell the vehicle as the actual mileage greatly depreciates the value which would be far less than the loan balance. I can't keep up with the payments anymore so I'm considering surrendering the vehicle to the lien holder. Will this hurt my claim against the seller? My lawyer's been in court all last week and so far this week so he hasn't been able to get back to me on whether or not it will or won't.

Unfortunately, I am going to say what you don't want to hear. Only your attorney who has access to all of the facts, contracts, and documents can answer this. Any answer any of us give will be a completely uneducated guess.
