Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

I am in chapter 13 and need to quit my job what are the ramifications and how do I go about this? How can I go into chapter 7 from Chapter 13 and will they take my car that I own if I do as that is my only asset. I live in NC.

You can convert a chapter 13 to a chapter 7. You do not provide any information about your car. If it is paid for, what is it worth? It may be exempt or partly exempt depending on its value. If it is not paid for, you will either need to find a way to keep paying for it or you will lose it. I have never had anyone indicate that they "need" to quit their job. I do not know how the bankruptcy court is going to view that. Talk to your bankruptcy attorney.
