Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

collection of debt

I furnished materials and labor to complete installation of floor covering in several apartments of an apartment complex with the verbal agreement that we would be paid in 30 days. After waiting 45 days a called the apartment complex manager and she refered me to a realty company in florida who is responsiable for payment. They negleted to return my calls for another 45 days and finally called me last week and wants to start making monthly payments on this amount(approx. 9500.00 dollars) with no interest. This account is now four months past due and I certainly do not trust them at this point. What legal options do I have at this point as a North Carolina corporation?

Re: collection of debt

If 120 days has not yet elapsed since the date of last work, you can file a lien and then follow it up with a lawsuit to enforce the lien. If your lien rights have expired, you can file a lawsuit for breach of contract.
