It depends. A credit card company first has to get aj udgment against you in order to do anything. The judgment acts as a lien on the real property. How much equity is in the property? Is it mortgaged? How is it titled? The answers will decide if the creditor can force you to sell your home or not.

The creditors do not really want your personal possessions. They are looking for land, cars or possibly electronics (computers or tvs) that they can sell to bring in cash. You do get exemptions for land, cars and personal items. I would need to know the value of the debt, your assets and their value to answer your question.

Even if you owe the debt, there are ways to settle the debt so that the creditor cannot take your assets. You can also file bankruptcy.
