credit cards
debt is over eight years old. I have refused to pay it, was part of debt during first marriage, but was never settled in divorce court, the card was in my name, but the x benifitted from the use. No paper work showing where i agreed to be responsible for the debt which i requested from the collection co. Can you advise?

Re: credit cards
It depends where you are at in process. If you have been sued, you would need to respond in a timely matter or else they can get a judgment against you no matter what valid arguments you may have. If they are sending you letters or calling, I would go to the library, go on-line and do research or order a book on dealing with debt collectors - for instance, type in "fair debt collection" on google.
