Nope. Your parents need to write a letter to the creditor or collector and advise: (1) that you do not live with them; (2) that they do not know your location; and (3) not to bother them anymore.

We have creditor and collector statutes in NC and there is also the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act although that only applies to collectors. I would write to the creditor or collector and advise them of your home address and direct that they only contact you in writing at your home address and not to contact your parents as (a) it serves no purpose but to harass, embarras and humiliate you; and (b) under the FDCPA. they are only allowed to contact your parents to obtain your location IF they do not know your whereabouts. Since they now know your address such contact is not necessary.
