Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

Date when Statute of Limitations in NC starts?

I read that in some states to determine the SOL start date you must add on 6 months from date of last payment and that will be when the SOL starts, not the original date of last payment.Does NC require 6 months to be added onto the date of last payment on an account and then go by that date in regards to the start date of SOL or does in fact NC see the start date of SOL is from the exact date of last payment? I am trying to figure out if my account is indeed past the SOL or not and unclear as to what date does the court go by.
