Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

My daughter has friends in CT who were supposed to visit us here in NC,and have now decided not to come, the mother is insisting that we owe her $200 for the bus trip. Her reason is because the mother thinks my daughter made her daughter feel unwelcome. Do I owe them - by the way, our daughters are both 18 years old.

You would be on pretty solid legal grounds based on the facts as you stated. However, it is up to you whether $200 is worth ruining a friendship or if some compromise is in order.
