Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

Deceased spouse's credit card bills

My father in law recently passed away. We have discovered credit card bills on my mother in laws credit report that she was not aware of. In other words, these were accounts opened without her knowledge. Two of the accounts are listed as joint accounts, one she is listed as an authorized user and one is listed as an individual account. What is she responsible for? Thanks so much!

Re: Deceased spouse's credit card bills

Start by asking for a copy of the application to see if your mother in law signed it.
