Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

exemptions for a judgement

I have a judgement on me for a car I signed with my daughter to get and she lost it to the finance company. Why do I need to fill out a notice for items to be exempt. There is nothing in my name.

Re: exemptions for a judgement

You received a judgment against you. The creditor is attempting to collect. You need to fill out the Notice of Right or you will lose any exemptions you may have. When you say there is nothing in your name, I am not sure what you mean. If you own any property, then that would be in your name. You really need to fill that out and file it within 20 days of it being served on you. If you don't understand how to fill it out, seek immediate help. I can't over stress the importance of this.
