Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

Foreclosure sales

My mom recently passed she was 83.

Ived lived with her for yrs. I was

contacted by Mann Bracket that my

mom has an outstanding balance from

Bank Of America of 8000.00 they

asked me to pay up. Her insurance

was really nothing. I paid for funeral

and money was gone. I don't have

8000.00 BBT is the mortgage holder.

They have a lien on the house. This

people (Mann) told me they were

going to force the sell of this house to

pay the bill. Can they do this?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Re: Foreclosure sales

Consult with an attorney. I can't tell from your facts. Usually, you would not be responsible for your mom's debts. There may be things you need to do as an executor/administrator of your mom's estate. If they have a lien on property already, then they may be able to foreclose. Consult with an attorney in your area.
