Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

My husband has a past due credit card. The collection agency call me (wife) @ work regarding his bill. They said no pmt has been made past 6mths this is incorrect. I told them he was currently not working and they said I was responsible for pmt. This card is not in my name, I am not on the account. Am I responsible? They wanted my financial information so they could set up a pmt plan isn't that implying if I give them that information that I am taking responsibility for the debt. I will pay them what I can when I can.

No you are not responsible.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR FINANCIAL INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!

They should not even be talking to you about your husband's debt. Let your husband make payment arrangements and get them in writing before you pay them any money.
