Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

Second Judgement/Exempt Items Paperwork

I have been served twice with a judgement (first time, I paid a good faith payment, and made installments, second time b/c they said they didn't rec. payments from me). I am unemployed and own nothing - what can they do if I don't pay the judgement? Should I fill out the paperwork and turn it in?

You should always turn in your Motion To Claim Exempt Property by the 20th day after you were served. It's not that difficult to fill out, there is no out of pocket cost to you, and the sheriff's office will not have to ask as many questions in order to determine if it is worth their time and expense to take your property in order to satisfy an unpaid judgment.
