Look at the papers that you signed. Payment in full is usually due at the time service is rendered or that you receive the bill. Medical providers are not banks and they do not have to perrmit you to pay over time unless this has been worked out in advance. Is this a hospital or a doctro's office? Many hospitals have patient advocates who can assist. If its a doctor's office, it will depend on the balance owed and the service provided. But the doctor does not have to put you on the easy payment plan .
