Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

my mother who is 69 fell & broke hip. she is also has schizophrenia.the day she was placed in nurseing home the home stated i must sign their paperwork for her or she could not stay. i avised the home i was only daughter not gardain. she has ss check medacare & medacaid. now they are sending 1800.00 bills in my name. how do i make the home put bills in her name.

I would have to see the paperwork that you signed. By signing, you may have obligated yourself to pay, regardless of what you told them. If you are not the guardian (the woman needs one) then the guardian should have signed, not you. If the woman has a guardian already, then give the bills to the guardian.

However, if the woman has Medicare and Medicaid, why was she not admitted into a nursing home where this would not be an issue?
