Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina
I moved into an apt. that my co worker perviously lived in and when she moved she asked if she could leave her washer and dryer at my apt until the end of the month. Two years later she contacts me and wants it, i give her a time and day to pick it up and she didnt respond. well another year later she says she going to take legal actions if we dont give it to her. Is there a law that once somethings on your property for a certin amount of time you own it?

This is not really a credit/debt/collections issue but the answer is no.
What you need to do is write her a letter and tell her to get the stuff or you will dispose of it. If she does not respond, then take pictures of it and do what you want with it. She is required to come and get it; you are not required to move it for her.
Just exactly how much does she think a used washer and dryer is worth anyway? She is not going to find a lawyer to take the case - this wuold be a small claims issue. That is why you need to protect yourself by writing the letter and taking pictures.
