If i recieved a bank loan 6 months ago and never signed a promissory note do i have to pay it back?

Now seriously, think about this question. Why would anyone think they can get a loan from a legitimate NC bank and not think that they need not repay it? If that is the law, then please tell me where you got the loan so I can get some free money too.

Something is not quite right - if you got the money from a bank then they would undoubtedly make you sign documents unless they really really screwed up or there is something else going on.

If you got the money from some kind of payday lender, that's different and brings up an entirely set of different issues.

However, while anything like this generally should be in writing, there are always exceptions to the rule and I don't know the circumstances because you have not provided any details. There is always the concepts of quantum meruit and unjust enrichment and your obtaining the loan and retention of the funds may meet these tests here.
