Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

If I reported a debt as unknown/fraudulent to the credit agencies and it was removed 10 months ago, can debt collection agencies still come after me for the debt (which I dispute is mine)?

Yes - they can come after you whether or not it was removed. Of course if it is not yours, you may have valid defenses and may even have counterclaims against the collection agencies.
