Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina
i have been served a notice of rights to have exemptions designated for a credit card debt. i always paid on time and had a great credit score, however i became totally and permentally, disabled in 2009, and had no income at all while applying for my social security benefits, and had to use my credit cards for everyday living expenses. i only get $851.00 per month and dont have the money to pay a lump sump settlement or for an attorney. what can the credit card company take from me? any advice?

You need help. You need to fill out the exemptions as if you don't the exemptions are waived and the sheriff can take any property that you own free and clear.
Your disability benefits are exempt, provided that you do not commingle these exempt funds with non-exempt funds or commingle the exempt funds with the non-exempt funds of another person.
I can help you fill out the exemptions for a reasonable fee. I give free email consults. There is a charge of $50 for phone consults. During any conversation, I can review the exemptions with you and discuss the best means to protect your assets.
Depending on your circumstances and the size of the judgment, I can also assist you in coming up with a plan to resolve your debt. Please contact me at rachelforjustice@hotmail,com if interested.
