You do not tell me a lot of information such as why you are being sued or the hearing date or how much the judgment is for.

If you do not show up and someone is suing you, the judge just hears their side of the story and will enter a judgment against you. The judgment is final in 30 days unless you appeal to the district court. After the judgment becomes final, the creditor may try to collect. There is no wage garnishment in North Carolina, but the creditor can seize anything that you own free and clear (unless you exempt it) or freeze your bank account.

Much will depend on what this is for. If this is for a credit card debt, whether you should show up will depend on whether you have a viable defense. If its for something else, then you should show up.
