Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina
If I signed a contract with CounterForce U*S*A and they were acquired by ADT, is my contract still binding and a termination fee valid if I cancel the service? This is in North Carolina.

Is this a security system contract? Read the contract. It must have a provision relating to assignment of the contract. If the contract provides that it can be assigned, then yes, it is valid and you are bound by whatever it says regarding cancellation.
