1 Answer from Attorneys

Firsts of all, attorneys generally do not call to tell your this. Second, what kind of a phone number is that? No lawyer has a phone number like that. Third, any lawsuit must be filed by an attorney who is licensed in NC. If this attorney is licensed, demand that he tell you his state of bar admission and bar number. Most states have directories and you can check him out if you have the information. Fourth, did you ever receive notice of a lawsuit? You would have to be notified. If you still have questions, then go to the county court where you reside and check the records to see if a lawsuit was filed.

If you never had a loan, I wonderr, was this a payday loan? It has all the earmarks of that. Is it possible that someone else could have obtained a loan using your information?

If this is a payday lendeer, then fill out a complaint with the NC Attorney General.
