Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

Will I ever get what is owed to me?

I live in NC and have a small claim I want to file for approximately $350.00. This is a winnable case for me, but the defendant has said there is no way she is going to pay even if I win the judgement. Does the judgement go on her credit record or will I just be out of luck again?

I believe it effects her credit but am not 100% sure how that works. You can also try to execute on her property - first you send her a Notice of Rights to Claim Exemptions which she has 20 days to fill out and claim her exemptions and then you execute through the Sheriff's office. For instance, if the woman in question is single and owns real estate, you may be able to collect.
