A writ of execution instructs the Sheriff to find property and execute on it. Before they can do a writ of execution, you should have been provided witha Notice of Rights to designate exemptions which allows you certain exemptions so that the Sheriff can't take all of your property - such as a certain amount of money for an automobile. You have 20 days to fill this out and file it with the Clerk of court from the time of service. If you already received the Notice of Rights and ignored it, then you have waived any exemptions you have. You could consult with an attorney in your area to see if you could file some sort of motion to set aside the waiver.
