Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

my daughter, a minor, got into a fight at school today. she grabbed a girl, also a minor, from behind and pulled her hair then beat her repeatedly. no hits were thrown from the other girl, so basically my daughter attacked her. the other young ladies mom said she was going to take papers out on her. when the papers are issued, will they come and arrest my daughter, or will she just get a court day and it all be taken care of that day? please help!
