Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
can a felon work where guns are sold
1 Answer from Attorneys
Sure but I think the real question you are asking is whether a felon can legally work where guns are sold. The answer to that is moot because the odds of anyone being hired for anything better than a dish washing job as a felon are slim and none - even a minor misdemeanor record makes job prospects limited these days. However, if a felon was hired to work where guns are sold that in and of itself is likely not illegal but they could still potentially be charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm if the job ever required exercise any sort of control over a firearm. This also means that who ever did the hiring you could potentially be charged with aiding and abetting a felon in possession of a firearm. So like I said, I really don't think anyone has much of a chance at being hired to work anywhere near guns.
