Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
My fiancee is on probation for possession. This past August was one year of a two year probation sentence. He was charged at 16 and was caught with pills at school, so he was charged with a felony. In August, he moved out of the county without properly contacting his probation officer, so he missed a meeting. That would mean two separate violations. Upon arriving in the new county, he was assigned a new PO who is very optimistic about his future. A few weeks ago, he was assigned a court date for the violations, but he was not arrested and a warrant was not served. This week, he will go before the judge with a court appointed attorney. I am curious as to what can happen to him under these circumstances. He was always very good about making it to meetings. The only thing wrong was that he couldn't find a job. He is still a high school student as well. I am just worried and would love if someone could help. His PO also simply told him to call after the court appointment is completed.
