Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
A friend had a bit of a nervous breakdown over the weekend due to some relationship issues. He felt weak and visited a woman and exchanged money for a some hand/oral. He was not arrested or stopped and he recognizes how stupid he was to do this in the first place. He's currently racked with guilt and fear that he has ruined his life. He has no record, and is a good, successful person. He worried sick that the police will be knocking on his door, or pulling him away from his job in handcuffs. I have tried to tell him that he is over reacting but he seems inconsolable. What is the likelihood of him being charged with something later and what sort of trouble would he be in?

Its not ethical for me to discuss your friend's situation with you. However, thinking about this with common sense, unless this was a sting operation and the woman was a police detective, I don't think there is anything to worry about. And if this was a sting, the police would already have arrested him.
The deed is done and cannot be undone. Your friend will just have to deal with the consequences IF they occur. I would not worry about this and move on and get some therapy for the relationship issues.
