Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
A hospital in another state made me an offer because they were desperately in need during this pandemic. I am an ER nurse. The arrangement was made and contract was drawn up by a (reputable) Travel Nurse agency. I signed what I thought was a legally binding contract on what they were offering to pay me and the term, which was eight weeks. Today, that hospital rescinded offers to any nurses who hadn't arrived yet because they overestimated their need. I was supposed to arrive April 20th. I had already given my 2 week notice to my current employer. Can that hospital legally break that contract?

Sure, if you had not yet met the terms of the offer. Also, in terms of fairness just as you seem to have had zero problem leaving a former employer for what was presumably a better opportunity for youself, the hospital ought to be able to resind for their benefit - yes? However, it never hurts to consult with a local attorney to see if you have any recourse. Best of luck.
