Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
Does a hunting land lease holder in NC have the power/right to file trespass charges on teens for riding ATVs on his land lease? Land posted by him, not the owner and no written permission by either leasee or owner given to teens.

Yes. A leaseholder steps into the shoes of the owner in terms of excluding others during the term of the lease. If someone enters his property without permission, he can consider them trespassers.
