Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

If a husband is charged by a police officer for domestic violence then goes to the husband's house repeatedly to 'check on the wife' - to the point of the wife having to repeatedly tell the officer to not come back and tells the wife lies about the husband - for example that the husband got beat up in jail for trying to be a big man, that the husband wasn't compliant when he was arrested - simply lies to the wife about the husband - would this behavior be considered harrassing by the officer? Would the husband have a valid complaint?

It is best to let your Criminal Defense attorney answer these questions based upon a more full knowledge of the case. It is always best not to file "complaints" in situations until you are represented by an attorney, and then only after being advised to proceed by that Attorney. In many situations you can wait to file a complaint AFTER the criminal charges are resolved. In a very few cases it may be appropriate to do it during the case. This is a decision which it too complex for this forum.
