Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
My husband hired a lawyer he got busted with some weed. The same lawyer that he hired represented the guys who told on him. We didn't even know until after the trial is this a conflict of interest? Shouldn't he have told him? Seems like some ind of scam!

The problem is that this issue is being raised now. If your husband has appeal rights or post-conviction rights he can try to allege that the conflict of interest deprived him of his constitutional right to effective counsel. Even if ther was a conflict, did the guys testify at trial against your husband?
Other than getting new counsel and maybe getting some relief on the criminal conviction there is not much else your husband can do.
And this is not necessarily a scam. This could have been something the lawyer just was not aware of. And how did the lawyer represent the guys? On criminal offenses or other matters?
My advice is that your husband needs to find a criminal law attorney now for an evaluation of his case at this stage to see what, if anything can be done.
