Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
Me & husband witnessed a crime in a hotel over the weekend. We left once the police cleared the hallway and got our money back from the front desk. I am devastated because I NEVER experienced anything like this before. We found out one of the men in the confrontation was murdered. My husband contacted the hotel a day later and all they said "Sorry for what happened". We feel horrible and uneasy. Is there a case for us & if so, what would this be called? Negligence, pain and suffering? I just need to know what to do

In life, bad horrific crap happens, you deal with it and move on like a normal person. Are you really suggesting that the hotel bears some responsibility for you feelings? In any event, your description of things is rather vague and I don'r see any case for you what so ever based on the information you presented. However, it may not be a bad idea for you and your husband to consult with a local attorney who can review your specific situation in more detail and lay out any options you may have. Best of luck and maybe consider arming yourself - with guns.
