Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

I am involved in the most bizarre lawsuit I can imagine. I am being sued for something that I have offered to give the other side, in exactly the amount and under the terms their suit demands.

But upon my agreement to give them everything they have asked for, they are refusing to take it. They are refusing to take the very thing they have asked for. But, they will not drop the suit.

So, they asked for something. I agreed to give it to them. They refused. And now we will go to court so they can ask the judge to give them what I have already offered to give them.

What the hell is going on here? How can you sue somebody for something you don�t want and refuse to take when it is offered to you on your own terms?

Unfortunately, without more facts, this is impossible to answer. You need to consult with an attorney if you have not already done so. There could be a number of reasons they don't want to settle.

1. If they are suing for an item, they may feel the item is damaged and want the money for it.

2. Their claim, depending on what they alledge may be worth more than the return of what you wanted to give.
