Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
So the man that killed my dad was found not guilty in superior court. The only reason the jury found him not guilty was because the Defense called up a "expert" in the feild of crashs and this expert lied to the court. He said many lies about tires and force which caused the outcome of the case is there anything we can do against the expert for lieing to the court? The da didn't do anything that helped us he just went along can we do anything to give us closure what can we do?

They call them traffic accidents because they are accidents. It's hardly like the other driver intended to harm your father. Further, an expert may be mistaken but the odds that the expert outright lied are slim and none. Your desire to see the other driver punished for causing your fathers death is not healthy for you mentally and it is most likely the case that your father would not want to see you suffering this way and consumed by hate for this other person. Closure is going to come from the acceptance that this was an accident and that it was simply your fathers time to leave us. I am very sorry for your loss and hope you get the closure you seek but that closure is not going to come from seeing that other driver punished.
