Can parents take charges out on an adult that provides beer for their 19 year old?

Interesting question, and an undecided issue in North Carolina Law. By statute the State can charge the parents with a Chapter 18 violation, however there is a very good argument that this interferes with the Family unit, and is unconstitutional as applied to a very specific set of facts.
The simple answer is yes they can be charged, the more complex answer is could they raise a good constitutional challenge.
