Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

My son has been accused of exposing himself to a 4yr. old by the 4yr old. The police want him to come take a lie detector test this morning(may29). Does he or should he have a lawyer present ?

He may need an attorney but not for the lie detector. If he has any common sense at all he will not speak one single word to law enforcement other than to tell them where they can stick their lie detector test. Never ever under any circumstances whatsoever (hopefully that's clear enough) should anyone submit to a lie detector test. Nor should you answer any questions or discuss he matter in any way with law enforcement. If they had what they needed to arrest him - they would simply do it. If they are asking questions and requesting tests, its a good indicator they do not have all the information they need and they are basically hoping you will be stupid enough to provide the information for them.
