Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina
My son has been arrested on several charges, but the 3 most important are felonies. The first is 1st degree burglary, followed by assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. My son is 53 years old and has an acute alcohol problem. He was drunk this night and smashed in an old man's window and screamed he was going to "kill him". He had to be tased twice in order to make him stop. There was no injury to the older man. My son does not remember anything about the incident other than being tased. He has a record for "drunk and disorderly" and the Officer who arrested him has said "I'm going to see to it that you go to prison!" What can I do to help my son? I am 72 and need him ...
