Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

I wanted to know, can you go to prison for robbing a drug dealer? isnt the money dirty so how can they charge you for this? my other question is what if the drug dealer has been calling you harrassing your family and they telling you your child didnt do it, it was the other guy but they wont tell the truth unless you pay them. isnt this against the law what they are doing to us. why cant they just tell the truth? they know they have his life in their hands and they are using this to their advantage. we dont know who to go to and tell what they are doing to us.

Robbery is against the law, period. There is no exception where the victim is a criminal. He may not be legally entitled to the money that is taken from him, but that doesn't mean the robber has the right to take it. Criminals are punished by the government according to the law, not by private individuals who have their own ideas about what is and isn't just.

You haven't provided enough information about the phone calls. It sounds like your child has been charged with a crime and the caller is offering to testify in his favor if you pay him. You should tell your child's defense attorney about these calls and let her decide what to do.

My sense is that you want to pay the money, get the favorable testimony and then steal the money back after the trial. I can't even begin to tell you what a bad idea that is, unless you genuinely want to spend many years behind bars.
