Legal Question in Discrimination Law in North Carolina

Pay based on Husband's income
Over the past few years my boss has made amultiple comments regarding my husband's pay as it relates to my pay. Such as ''I can't let you make more than your husband'', ''I'm not going to adjust your salary, because your husband makes a comfortable living'', ''Like you need this money, your husband is independantly wealthy'' Aside from being inappropriate, are these statements discrimination?

It certainly sounds like discrimination against marriage to me. You don't have to stand for it.
