Legal Question in DUI Law in North Carolina

DWI Case

3 year old case in which an attorney was hired. My daughter changed residence and never received the letter that she had to appear in court. She had called the lawyer several times and he never returned her call not once. The lawyer kept getting it postponed. She has now had her license suspended for 1 year. In the last 3 years she has had a baby and is a 3.9 college student. This will put a burden on taking the baby to appointments and attending classes. Does she have any recourse for an appeal since she never received any letters or call backs from the attorney?

Re: DWI Case

Rather than an appeal, the more important issue for your daughter would seem to involve clearing up the

DUI case which appears to remain outstanding (either in Va. or N. Carolina) which apparently is the basis for her license suspension.
