Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
I was wed on 6/30/17, my husband had already been diagnosed with liver cancer but at that time we thought we would have more time. He has a lot of assets and I did not wish to receive anything from his will, he had said he was going to give me the vehicle (his) that I was driving. He paid it off, but has not transferred the title to me. He also said he had listed me as a beneficiary on a small insurance policy. His disease progressed very quickly and he has been under Hospice care at our shared home for over a month, he began getting very agitated with me due to his medications (he is on a constant opioid pain pump) & his adult son walked in as he was yelling at me that he wanted to leave when just the night before, he introduced me as the love of his life to a group of family members. The son removed him from the home, changed my medical and legal POA to himself and I cannot see him or speak with him even though I have been his 24/7 caretaker for months. I have given them all of his requested personal property, we have no joint accounts, and now they want to take the vehicle. This happened Thursday before I could get an attorney, and I did not know they were changing everything. Can I do anything? I am away from the home in case they should try and take anything else.

You need an attorney yesterday! A lot of what you are saying doesn't make sense especially the part about him changing the POA. They can't do that without his consent and he likely can't consent if he is in hospice and under a pain meds. So unless you don't mind walking away with nothing you need an attorney ASAP.
