Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
I bought my house before I got married. I am thinking about refinancing which in NC means my husband will go on the deed. if we get a divorce can he claim half my house?

He does not necessarily have to go on the deed unless you agree to that. He will have to sign the deed of trust, which is a loan document, but this is separate from the actual deed. If you don't want him on the deed, you don't have to have him on it. But remember, if a divorce happens, whether he is on the deed or not, might not in itself dictate who gets what.
