Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina
My ex boyfriend will not stop harrassing me. Sending me literally hundreds of texts and calls threatening to kill himself or to come over to my apartment and trash my car if I don't answer him. We broke up because he verbally abused me and at the end it turned slightly physical and he would threaten to kill me. I am afraid. He is very unstable mentally and I know that I probably said things to provoke him in the past but now I just want out and I want him to leave me alone and I am not sure how to go about doing that? It seems if I say something to him it makes it worse and if I DON'T say anything it all, it makes it worse too. Help?

Get a protection from abuse or civil no contact order. If it continues, press criminal charges against him for harassment , communicating a threat, assault, cyberstalking and anything else.
If he is really that unstable, you do have to protect youself. Get a handgun and learn how to use it, learn self-defense or whatever you are comfortable with. You might have to change your cell number. Move to a new location as soon as you can.
