Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Child custody of unwed parents

Me and my ex-boyfriend just split up and we have a 4 year old daughter together. At this point in time we do not have a custody agreement but i give him visitation rights as she lives with me full time. I need to know who has legal custodity of her right now without a written agreement. Also i would like to install some rules for visition like where is is allowed to go without prior written permission.

thank you

Re: Child custody of unwed parents

The terms of visitation can be part of a written agreement (Separation Agreement) between the two of you (you and your ex). If you are not able to agree on such matters, either of you can then petition the Court to intervene and issue a Court Order. Feel free to contact my law firm if you feel like you need to hire an attorney to help you with these serious matters involving your family.
